What would you tell a worker using a ladder in this way?
You can't always believe what you read, especially when a sign points the way to an emergency telephone that doesn't exist.
Here's an eye-popping photograph showing workers perched on makeshift scaffolding that could shift or snap without warning.

Whatever part of this safety footwear which was considered to be “safe” by the wearer is something that only he would know.
Here we have a photograph of two workers working at a significant height without any form of fall protection. They did take the time to place safety cones on the ground, which lends a sad irony to this scenario.

When people don't have the right equipment or are too lazy to go get it, they tend to improvise in ways that are anything but wise. Here's a photo of a man holding a worker upside down outside an elevated window. The strain is plainly evident on his face.
This photograph was taken in Indonesia, but workers all over North America often place themselves in similar danger by attempting to lift or roll heavy objects that could crush them if they lost control of those items. In this photo, workers are seen pushing a huge log up a steep ramp to a truck bed.
This ladder wasn't up to the task, so three workers extended its reach by lifting it into the air, with a fourth worker hanging on to it! This photograph illustrates one of the many unsafe ways of using a ladder.
