One man died in a construction site accident in Iowa earlier this year. Two men were working in a ditch replacing a sewer line when a wall of dirt suddenly caved in. One man was killed and the other suffered serious injuries to his legs.

The man who died is Danny Meggison, 43. Friends say he was experienced at digging trenches.

Rescuers used wood to shore up the unstable walls. Then, because of the narrow trench — just four feet wide and nine feet deep — only two firefighters could work at once to free the men. It took three hours to free Travis Klos and another hour to remove Meggison.

Paramedics believe Meggison died within four minutes.
