  • Fatiga Ocular y Dolores de Cabeza: Las largas horas frente a pantallas o bajo iluminación deficiente reducen la tasa de parpadeo en casi un 70%, causando ojo seco, dolores de cabeza y visión borrosa.
  • Resplandor y Luz Reflejada: La luz directa o reflejada en monitores, parabrisas y superficies pulidas obliga al ojo a reenfocarse constantemente, acelerando la fatiga y ralentizando el tiempo de reacción.
  • Iluminación Inadecuada: Las áreas de trabajo tenues ocultan riesgos de tropiezo, piezas móviles y puntos de presión; los niveles de luz bajos se relacionan repetidamente con resbalones, caídas e incidentes con maquinaria.
  • Parpadeo: Los fluorescentes envejecidos y los LED de baja calidad parpadean a frecuencias que el ojo no puede detectar conscientemente, desencadenando dolores de cabeza, náuseas y fatiga.

ESTADÍSTICAS

  • NIOSH reporta que los trabajadores de oficina en EE. UU. pasan un promedio de 7.5 horas al día frente a pantallas, con una tasa de parpadeo que cae casi un 70% durante el enfoque sostenido en pantalla.
  • The U.S. BLS registró 5,283 lesiones laborales fatales en 2023, con incidentes de transporte que representaron el 36.8% — una categoría líder fuertemente vinculada a la fatiga del conductor y el deterioro visual.
  • NHTSA estima que aproximadamente 1 de cada 5 choques fatales en EE. UU. involucra a un conductor somnoliento.
