OSHA conducted an inspection of a US postal service processing and distribution facility in Eau Claire, WI, and found two alleged repeat violations and one alleged serious violation. The violations allege failure to provide powered industrial vehicle refresher training after the operator has either been involved in an incident, operated a vehicle unsafely or was assigned to a different kind of lift truck. OSHA also alleges failure to ensure that US Postal Service workers performed daily examinations of industrial trucks prior to the trucks being placed into service. Total penalties of $58,500 are being proposed.
