QUÉ ESTÁ EN RIESGO

Los riesgos de enfermedades infecciosas no terminaron con el COVID; ahora son parte del trabajo cotidiano. La enfermedad aún puede propagarse rápidamente a través de espacios compartidos, contacto cercano y tareas de rutina si se descuidan los controles básicos. Mantener la constancia en higiene, conciencia y acción temprana es lo que evita que pequeñas exposiciones se conviertan en enfermedades generalizadas.

CUÁL ES EL PELIGRO

El riesgo de enfermedades infecciosas sigue presente en el trabajo diario y se propaga rápidamente cuando se descuidan los controles básicos. Debido a que no siempre es visible, las personas frecuentemente bajan la guardia, lo que aumenta la exposición.

Transmisión de Persona a Persona

El contacto cercano, el aire compartido y los espacios concurridos permiten que virus y bacterias se propaguen a través de gotitas y aerosoles. Esto puede causar enfermedades respiratorias, fiebre, fatiga y ausencias del trabajo.

Superficies y Manos Contaminadas

Los gérmenes pueden sobrevivir en superficies como herramientas, escritorios y equipos compartidos. Cuando las manos no se limpian adecuadamente, transfieren gérmenes al rostro, la boca u otras superficies, aumentando el riesgo de infección.

Trabajar Estando Enfermo

Cuando las personas van a trabajar estando enfermas, exponen a otros y aumentan el riesgo de brotes. Esto puede llevar a que múltiples trabajadores se enfermen, escasez de personal e interrupción operativa.

Reducción de la Conciencia y Complacencia

Con el tiempo, las personas pueden dejar de seguir prácticas de higiene o asumir que el riesgo es bajo. Esto lleva a precauciones omitidas, respuesta tardía y mayor propagación de enfermedades en el lugar de trabajo.

COMO PROTEGERSE

Protegerte de enfermedades infecciosas en el trabajo consiste en mantener la constancia con hábitos simples. El riesgo puede no ser siempre visible, pero tus acciones diarias son las que mantienen la exposición baja.

Mantén la Constancia en la Higiene

La buena higiene es tu primera línea de defensa. Solo funciona si la practicas cada vez, no solo cuando parece necesario.

  • Lávate las manos regularmente con agua y jabón
  • Evita tocarte la cara durante el trabajo
  • Limpia y desinfecta superficies y herramientas compartidas

Sé Consciente del Contacto Cercano

Presta atención a cómo interactúas con otros, especialmente en espacios compartidos o concurridos. Da espacio cuando sea posible, evita el contacto cercano innecesario y sé consciente en reuniones, áreas de descanso o zonas de trabajo ocupadas.

Mantente Alerta, No te Vuelvas Complaciente

Solo porque el riesgo no sea obvio no significa que haya desaparecido. Mantenerse alerta y constante es lo que previene la propagación de enfermedades.

No Ignores los Síntomas

Si te sientes mal, actúa temprano. Ignorar la enfermedad aumenta el riesgo para todos.

  • Quédate en casa cuando estés enfermo
  • Reporta síntomas según los procedimientos del lugar de trabajo
  • Sigue las pautas de regreso al trabajo antes de regresar

Mantén tu Entorno Limpio y Ventilado

La ventilación y la limpieza reducen la propagación de enfermedades.

  • Aumenta la ventilación donde sea posible
  • Mantén las áreas de trabajo limpias y organizadas
  • Evita compartir artículos personales

CONCLUSIÓN

El riesgo de enfermedades infecciosas no desaparece; simplemente se vuelve más fácil de ignorar. Cuando mantienes la constancia en la higiene, prestas atención a los síntomas y actúas temprano, evitas que pequeñas exposiciones se conviertan en problemas mayores. Los hábitos simples practicados cada día son lo que mantiene saludables a ti y a tu equipo.
