Maywood man dies lifting boxes at Schaumburg mall
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) — Police in northwest suburban Chicago say a man has died after he fell from a truck lift gate while unloading boxes at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.
Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl tells the Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/HJmUGE) that 44-year-old Eric Terrell of Maywood died Sunday. Police say Terrell was moving shelving units when he fell and several boxes dropped onto him. Terrell was later pronounced dead at an Elk Grove Village hospital.
Police say it’s not clear what caused Terrell to fall. An autopsy is scheduled.
Police are investigating but don’t consider the death suspicious. Nebl says “it looks like a terrible accident.”
