ESTADÍSTICAS

  • El 24% de los trabajadores del sector alimentario han sufrido lesiones en su trabajo actual, y el 17% de los trabajadores sufrieron lesiones en su primer año.
  • El 42% de los trabajadores rara vez o nunca recibe formación de su jefe o supervisor, y el 20% afirma haber recibido muy poca formación antes de empezar a trabajar.
  • El 37% de los trabajadores y el 43% de los supervisores coinciden en que la formación es a veces demasiado complicada o difícil de entender.
  • El 75% de los trabajadores afirman que sentirse personalmente seguros y protegidos en el lugar de trabajo es importante para ellos. El 72% también afirma desconocer en gran medida la función de medio ambiente, salud y seguridad de su empresa.
  • El número de empleados de servicios de restauración y bares muertos en el trabajo aumentó un 40% en 2015, uno de los aumentos más pronunciados entre todas las profesiones, según los nuevos datos de la Oficina de Estadísticas Laborales.
  • El aumento fue especialmente dramático para los trabajadores de cocina y camareros, con un aumento del 64%, el más alto absoluto entre todos los oficios que fueron medidos.
  • BLS encontró en su censo anual de muertes en el lugar de trabajo que 165 empleados de servicios de alimentos y bares murieron mientras trabajaban en 2016, en comparación con 118 el año anterior.
