Eco Safe Means People Safe Sustainability Initiatives Worker Risk

Esta imagen muestra una planta de reciclaje en pleno funcionamiento, donde las cintas transportadoras mueven una corriente constante de materiales mixtos—plástico, metal, cartón—hacia las estaciones de clasificación. Un trabajador está parado cerca de una de las cintas donde los materiales han comenzado a atascarse. En lugar de detener el sistema, el trabajador se inclina hacia adelante, extendiendo la mano hacia los rodillos en movimiento para liberar los residuos. La maquinaria sigue funcionando, sin protecciones instaladas y sin bloqueo aplicado. Cerca, otros trabajadores siguen concentrados en sus tareas, sin darse cuenta de lo rápido que está escalando la situación. Todo parece rutinario—pero el brazo del trabajador ahora está peligrosamente cerca del punto de pellizco donde se están jalando los materiales.
