QUÉ ESTÁ EN RIESGO

Las tareas diarias como levantar objetos, escribir, conducir, estirarse o estar de pie pueden tensar silenciosamente el cuerpo cuando se realizan en posiciones incómodas o se repiten durante largos periodos de tiempo. Una ergonomía deficiente genera tensión en la espalda, el cuello, los hombros y las manos, lo que provoca lesiones que se desarrollan lentamente y se curan aún más lentamente. Unos simples ajustes en la postura, la configuración del espacio de trabajo y los movimientos pueden prevenir estos problemas y permitirte trabajar de forma cómoda y segura.

CUÁL ES EL PELIGRO

Las lesiones ergonómicas se producen de forma lenta y silenciosa, lo que hace que sean fáciles de ignorar hasta que se agravan. Cuando el cuerpo se ve obligado a adoptar posturas incómodas o a repetir el mismo movimiento una y otra vez, los músculos y las articulaciones comienzan a desgastarse mucho antes de que aparezca el dolor.

Tensión Oculta en los Movimientos Cotidianos

Alcanzar objetos por encima de la cabeza, agacharse repetidamente, girar mientras se transporta algo, escribir sin apoyo o permanecer de pie en la misma posición durante demasiado tiempo crea una tensión que se acumula día tras día. Dado que estas acciones parecen normales, los trabajadores a menudo no se dan cuenta de la presión que están ejerciendo sobre la espalda, los hombros, las muñecas o las rodillas.

Cuando la Fatiga se Convierte en Lesión

A medida que los músculos se cansan, la postura cambia y los movimientos se vuelven menos controlados. Es entonces cuando los tendones se irritan, las articulaciones se endurecen y los pequeños dolores se convierten en lesiones por esfuerzo repetitivo. Si no se detectan a tiempo, estas pequeñas molestias pueden convertirse en problemas duraderos que limitan la movilidad, la fuerza y la productividad.

COMO PROTEGERSE

Proteger tu cuerpo comienza por reconocer cuándo una tarea te obliga a adoptar posturas incómodas o te mantiene en una misma postura durante demasiado tiempo.

Adapta tu Espacio de Trabajo a tus Necesidades

Tanto si trabajas en un almacén, una oficina o sobre el campo, coloca tus herramientas, pantallas o materiales de manera que puedas trabajar sin tener que agacharte, estirarte o girarte. Acerca los objetos, sube o baja tu puesto de trabajo y mantén las herramientas que utilizas con frecuencia a una altura cómoda. Una configuración que favorezca una postura neutra reduce el estrés diario en la espalda y los hombros.

Utiliza una Buena Mecánica Corporal

Mantén la columna vertebral alineada, los hombros relajados y los movimientos suaves. Al levantar objetos, flexiona las caderas y las rodillas en lugar de la cintura y mantén los objetos cerca del cuerpo. Evita girar el cuerpo entero con los pies en lugar de rotar la espalda.

Qué Hacer Durante Tu Turno para Reducir la Tensión

  • Cambia de posición a menudo para evitar la rigidez.
  • Tómate pequeños descansos para estirarte o reajustar la postura.
  • Utiliza carritos o ayudas mecánicas en lugar de transportar cargas incómodas.
  • Ajusta los asientos, las pantallas y las herramientas hasta que te resulten cómodos.
  • Relaja el agarre de las herramientas o dispositivos siempre que sea posible.
  • Presta atención a los primeros signos de fatiga o molestias.

Incorpora la Ergonomía a tu Rutina

Busca tareas que causen tensión recurrente, como agacharse repetidamente, escribir durante mucho tiempo o pasar mucho tiempo sobre suelos de hormigón. Agregar amortiguación, reposicionar materiales o reorganizar tu flujo de trabajo ayuda a distribuir la carga y le da a tus músculos el descanso que necesitan.

CONCLUSIÓN

Las lesiones ergonómicas no ocurren de repente. Se acumulan silenciosamente a través de pequeñas tensiones que se repiten día tras día. Prestar atención a la postura, ajustar tu espacio de trabajo y darle a tu cuerpo descansos regulares son hábitos simples que te protegen ahora y a largo plazo. Unos pocos ajustes inteligentes hoy previenen problemas dolorosos más adelante.
