Minor injuries for Saskatchewan farmers after machinery contacts power lines
Several Saskatchewan farmers have escaped with minor injuries after machinery came into contact with power lines.
SaskPower officials said the incidents happened over the past few days as farmers take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to harvest their crops.
In the three cases reported by SaskPower, the machinery came into contact with overhead or underground power lines.
Although there only appears to be minor injuries in these cases, officials said electrical injuries can cause internal damage even if there is little or no visible outside wound.
They are reminding farmers to harvest their crops safely, look up to spot power lines and call before digging.
